For the Love of Turqouise or is it Aqua?

Whatever you want to call it, it has become my new favorite color and I'm drawn to it everywhere!  So much so, that during one of my movie marathons, I noticed the film Leave Her To Heaven, shot in Technicolor, has a heavy dose of Turquoise and Red throughout.  Take a gander.....

Well, you get the idea.  If you're snowed in this weekend, check this one out for the cinematography and Gene Tierney's amazing clothes!  Also, if you need some more turquoise, check out the blog, House of Turquoise.

I've got to admit I haven't been a turqouise fan for many years(except jewelry, of course). Being a woman of a certain age, I still remember the turqouise phase in late 50's /early 60's -- turqouise kitchen appliances, washers and dryers; and the unforgettable turqouise baths -- ceramic tile, sink, bathtub, and yes, toilet. But Aqua - yea I really like Aqua. Nice photos.

I remember an aunt of mine having a pleather(?) aqua couch.....very contemporary. I believe she had the aqua kitchen as well, and I definitely remember her aqua bathroom! Pretty cutting edge for Wichita Falls.

Growing up "turqouise" I am not a fan . . . . but it seems it is staging a comeback -- give me the blue of those ginger jars, the blue of transferware -- THAT is my blue but . . . there is now blue panels in my dining room that border or turquoise and I have some fabric for new chair seats that coordinate well -- the color says robins egg . . . but I do think it has a hint of green in it -- am I "coming over to the turqouise side?

I understand, Martha. It's going to be okay........turquoise is good, just keep saying it over and over. My laptop "wallpaper" is Van Gough's Almond Blossom. Check it out, I think this will give you even more appreciation for this beautiful color.
