What I Wanted

These drapes, in the recent Pottery Barn catalogue, are $99 a panel for the 108" length I need.  I ALMOST ordered them but discovered they wouldn't be available til after December 17th!

What I did............

I went to my favorite fabric store, Brentwood Interiors and found this fabric for $8.75/yd.  Grand total was $57.65.  That is much better than $200 plus shipping and I had these drapes up within an hour on August 23rd which is much better than December 17th.

Unfortunately, the way the bedroom is configured, I can't show you the headboard with the drapes but here's an attempt .......

It's not a sophisticated as the Allesandra pattern but close enough for the price and instant gratification!  CARPE DIEM!!!  Now the bedroom is a bit softer and will be a bit warmer this winter in this insulation challenged rental!

I like what you did! I have always had to settle for not "what I want" -- I'm the one in the bargain bins trying to fit what they have into what I want. But you know what, my house is more me because of it!

I like your new drapes better than the PB ones and the price is so much better --

Good for you and I think they look PERFECT!

Pottery Barn should commission you to create for them. Looks very nice!

The room is elegant and your drapes are lovely. I like the price a whole lot better. PB prices scare me. hugs♥olive

Oh my gosh, yours are way better!!! Love that fabric too. That is another issue here, there is only the one place to get it and it's not cheap. If I know what it is, I can usually find it at fabric.com a lot less. Love the bedroom! So now we see just a little bit more of the ranch, which always leaves me wanting to see more!

Do you travel? With your sewing machine? If so, PLEASE come! I'm with Martha in liking what you made better than what Pottery Barn offered.

In addition to the drapes, I also need a headboard and tablecloth.

Best,
Bonnie
