Morning Walk

This made me think of Van Gogh's Almond Blossom painting -

And this, Monet's Water Lillies -

Ain't I cultured and stuff!  It was a beautiful morning, I hope yours was as well.

A Trio in Bluegreen

Chania at Razmataz has a photo challenge each week!  The assignment this time around - Architectural Elements!  I majored, well, one of my many majors was Historic Preservation so I was quite excited about this!  I intended to take a field trip into downtown Nashville to show you some great architectural elements there.  Unfortunately, that was not to be.  I've had to go to "the files" for this challenge.  My apologies to those of you who have seen these images before.

Thanks Razmataz!  I can't wait to see what everyone else has done.

Happy Halloween

Okay, this is the last time I will make you look at The Rockin' S Bistro Autumn/Halloween Tablescape.  It makes me smile.  I bought the plate and cast iron, ghost girl bank to sell in my ETSY shop, but I couldn't part with them.  Husband's worse fears realized!

For some SERIOUS tablescaping, please join Susan at BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday!

Anatomy of a Flea Market

This is the last week of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Whilst strolling through the flea market, I noticed a theme emerging.  Allow me to share......

DUDE!  What are you staring at?

Just a reminder to keep up that monthly self-exam!  Take care.

Flea Market Reds

A new discovery!  Friday photo challenge at Razmataz.  This Friday's challenge: RED.  The flea market was in town so away I went.  The results -

I started with chairs, so we'll end with chairs.  At $23 a piece, these guys now live at The Ranch!  More about that later.......

Are You Sitting Comfortably?

This site is just too good not to pass on!  For your next coffee break, please treat yourself to a handsome Englishman reading aloud to you "romantic" passages from various works of literature.

Carte Noir

Now this is brilliant marketing! I highly recommend Dominic West. Check him out reading from The Lady With The Little Dog. Please notice the atmospheric conditions behind him.  Now do you see how great a rainy day can be?  I can't stop smiling.

October Farmer's Market

The Sunday drive lead us to East Nashville to gawk at all the beautiful bungalows being restored and then on to the Farmers' Market for a heavy dose of fall color.

The apple aficionado was in heaven.  Myself, I brought home a few green tomatoes to fry up.  I'm always searching for the ultimate: crab cake, meatball, chicken fried steak, Rueben, shrimp scampi and fried green tomatoes.  I will be trying out Bonnie's recipe tomorrow.

In the meantime, the porch at the Ranch is dressed for Fall 2010.

Celebrating Fall Break!!!

Cloudy Day in Tennessee

Cloudy and rainy days are my favorite!  I know most of you won't understand that but let's just say it takes all kinds.  Here are some photos of the current scenery around Brentwood and Franklin, Tennessee!

Cemetery at Carnton Plantation.

Downtown Franklin.  This one's for Nancy and M.G.

Monument to the Tennessee Volunteers.

The End.  I'll give you some sunny day shots soon - in smaller doses, I promise.  OR, if we're really lucky, Janie at Southern Lagniappe, will make her way back up here and do the town justice with her amazing photography!
