Coming Clean

Remember this?

This week's photo challenge over at Razmataz was "la vignette" i.e. the vignette versus the big picture which is not always that attractive.

First of all, both the 18 year old AND the husband were out and about so I had to get the 5 year old to take the pic. Obviously, a tripod was employed as well.

Once upon a time, I would have brushed my hair and put on some make-up.  Why don't I care anymore?  I'm thinking it's due to being around for 48 years.  Take me as I am.  Again, this is all about the cold hard facts!  And now, panning back...

The dinner table loaded with laptop, paper work for the upcoming graduate's cap and gown, the Kindergartener's school pictures and the chosen recipes for Thanksgiving.  Also, the flashlight to put a little more illumination on the vignette.  This was an effort to simulate a picture light, which is on my Christmas list.  To complete the chaos, a stuffed monkey.  Looking at this now, it seems pretty tame.  In person, it stresses me.  Yes, I'm one of those.

To enhance the lovely amber color of the featured libation, back lighting via votive candle.  It would be really swanky if that was a match book from "21" or some other chic NYC restaurant from the Thin Man Era, but it's from the local sports bar right here in Brentwood, TN.  So there you have it.  What do you think?  Can you "handle the truth" of the big picture, or do you prefer the little glimpses?

You have a fine helper. The truth is what it is and you go to way more effort than I do to get the shot. I should try harder. Well done Dana.

Yes, you do go through a lot of thought and effort to get just what you are looking for.
Seems you have everything under control. Nicely decorated, out and available what you are working with.

I like the real deal. Your dining room is gorgeous no matter how cluttered it is. You're a genius with all the little lighting tricks. Keep it real girlfriend!

Pictures may say a thousand words but it is the words we want them to say! Your vignette picture is perfect!!!

But love the other pictures as well -- the behind the scenes pictures!
