It's not perfect yet. I'm a plate hanger short and OF COURSE I have to get some flora in there, but here it is so far -
I love this guy.
And here's me being clever. I LOVE books and still have about every one I've ever owned. Therefore, I was able to copy pages from some beloved childhood books onto card stock and voila!
You can't get that from a Kindle!!!

Back In The Saddle
Okay, enough. I have fallen down on the "dressing" part of Ranch Dressing. No more floral vignettes (for at least a week), time to get ready for Christmas 2010. I'm starting in the Bistro.
Goodbye Autumn. Yes, those are artificial flowers I pulled out of the blue and white from the dining room. I was desperate for color that wouldn't die. I can't tell you how much I despise fake flowers. After coming home from our Thanksgiving trip and seeing these guys, I realized just how badly I needed the vacation! What was I thinking???? One of the best aspects of a vacation can be the homecoming. You really get a good look at your home with a "fresh eye". Fortunately, except for the faux flower debacle, I was well pleased with The Ranch. The Bistro is going to get kicked up a notch and decked for Christmas. Pardon the ugly before but that's what befores are all about, right? Time to get busy! Stay tuned.....

Heeeeeeere, Asta!
The festive season is upon us, and it's time to lay out the holiday cheer.
Stay tuned. On December 3rd I will be revealing "the truth behind the vignette" to meet Chania's next photo challenge at Razmataz. This will mostly be for you, Anita. She thinks I'm such a tease with my glimpses into The Ranch. For now, enjoy the magic and the mystery.

Pattern
This week's photo challenge at Razmataz is PATTERN. While roaming the Farmer's Market today, I spied this Winterberry bush. All I could see was that good ol' double helix pattern -
I could have definitely had a career in genetic research, but the pesky subject of Math, really got in the way. Gregor Mendel will always be one of my heroes. Let's hear it for the fruit fly! Okay, again, it takes all kinds.

Postcard(s) 6
Sea Lilies and Roses
Blue paired with orange, unfurling delicacy with blatant pugnacity. Opposites, do indeed, attract. I am crazy about these sea lilies. Thank you Carol and Molly for identifying them for me. Happy Monday.

Isn't it Ironic?
By the time I researched this week's photo challenge at Razmataz - SHADOW- my favorite kind of dreary day had arrived, leaving me shadowless. Good thing I'm an "indoor girl" and used my well honed powers of indoor observation to solve this dilemma!
First, my latest love -
These spiky blue "flowers!" No, I don't remember their name, something very Latin. Well I played around and here you go, "Shadows on the Rockin' S Bistro" -
Which one is your favorite? I know the black/white and sepia tones are traditional shadow enhancers but I just love that "color boost!"
Thanks, Chania!

As Seen This EARLY Morning At The Ranch
Why am I sharing this? I don't know, I thought this looked cool, and because I have a blog and I can! Happy Wednesday.
